Restriction Enzymes
There are currently two tables of restriction enzymes available for use with juniper. Note that it is not only the choice of enzymes in the table that affects results but their ranking. Highly ranked enzymes will be used preferentially.
- Sticky-ended six cutters - This table contains 47 enzymes. All recognise unambiguous stretches of 6 bases, and produce sticky-ended cuts. The enzymes have been taken from the GCG data file enzyme.data, which takes its data from REBASE, The Restriction Enzyme Database © Dr. Richard J. Roberts, 1998.
- Prod's cutters - This table contains 29 eznymes taken from the list of sticky-ended six cutters. Isoschizomers with the same site but a different cut point have been removed, as have some uncommon restriction enzymes.
